An experimental work by one of the iconic painters of the Bokujinkai group who modernised calligraphy in 1950s post-war Japan. For the works by Shiryu Morita, their influence at home preceded the ground-breaking Gutai movement and extended abroad to audiences that embraced the uninhibited freedom of expression in ink.
