“Continuing the great momentum from the previous sale in January, last night we welcomed a group of enthusiastic collectors who embraced the Boundless concept by competing intensely for the diverse range of Western and Asian art on offer, driving nearly 60% of the lots to sell above high estimate. The strong market interest for works by prominent Western artists continues. Works by Keith Haring performed exceptionally well, among which Untitled (1983) became the top lot of the sale achieving HK$4.16 million / US$533,000, four times its pre-sale estimate; while Dog (1986) attracted fierce competition from 10 bidders, fetching HK$3.2 million / US$410,000, almost six times the pre-sale estimate. Works by Asian artists such as Yayoi Kusama were highly sought after, as were many of the design pieces, among which the specially- curated designer lamps section was 100% sold. With the strong results achieved last night, we look forward to bringing more iconic modern and contemporary art pieces – both Western and Asian – to discerning collectors in the region who wish to infuse art into the everyday life.”

蘇富比無界藝術主管杜依舜(Isaure de Viel Castel)表示:「承接本年初 『無界:當代藝術』拍賣的強勁開局,昨夜的拍場吸引了一眾支持『無界』收藏概念的藏家,踴躍競 投一系列種類多元的西方及亞洲藝術品,使得近六成拍品以超越高估價拍出。市場對知名西方藝術家 作品持續展示強烈興趣,其中凱斯‧哈林之作表現突出,其 1983 年作品《無題》以估價四倍之 416 萬 港元成交,成為全場最高成交拍品;另外,他於 1986 年創作之《狗》,在十位藏家激烈爭奪下,以 接近估價六倍之 320 萬港元拍出。包括草間彌生在內的亞洲藝術家備受追捧,設計作品亦表現亮麗, 尤其設計燈飾特別單元的所有拍品更全數成交。我們為昨夜的拍賣佳績感到鼓舞,並期待為一眾致力 把藝術融入生活的區內藏家,繼續帶來更多標誌性的現當代西方及亞洲藝術品。」
